With my heart suddenly stolen away by the
heartrending scent of spring
Once again I was moved to tears
It’s a worn-out phrase that goes:
“That time of year when the cherry blossoms rain down”
Yet I’m plunged into the depths of despair
Encounters brimming over with radiance / Farewells that are voiced fleetingly / Smiling amidst the breeze
Dreams vanishing into thin air / And the stories we spin to each our names / It’s all melting away into the spring night
Those closing words we haven’t yet uttered—
Did you stand there unable to say them,
Still unable to understand?
So that the four seasons keep on going round
It’s fine to reminisce even as you walk on
I murmured this, so as to summon all my strength
When it comes down to it, there is / no certain answer for our hopes, / but still we smile amidst the breeze
The light of the moon we gazed upon / imbues a sidelong glance at our unchanging selves / This spring night is melting away
Encounters brimming over with radiance / Farewells that are voiced fleetingly / Smiling amidst the breeze
Dreams vanishing into thin air / And the stories we spin to each our names / It’s all melting away into the spring night
